Cape Town, South Africa
We rebuild communities, brick by brick.
Rebuild Community Foundation works side by side with families across Cape Town to repair homes, grow food, and open doors to learning, so every neighbourhood has a strong foundation to stand on.

Who we are
A foundation built by neighbours, for neighbours.
Rebuild Community Foundation is a non-profit organisation rooted in Cape Town. We believe lasting change doesn't arrive from outside. It is built from within, by people who know their streets, their families and their needs best.
We bring together residents, volunteers, local businesses and partners to restore what has been damaged, strengthen what already works, and create new opportunities for children, youth and families.
- Our mission
- To empower communities to rebuild their homes, livelihoods and futures with dignity.
- Our vision
- Safe, self-reliant and connected neighbourhoods where every person can thrive.
Our programmes
Three foundations for a stronger community.
Everything we do starts with listening. These are the areas where Cape Town families have asked us to help most.
Safe Homes
Repairing roofs, walls and doors for vulnerable households, and rebuilding after fires and floods so families can sleep safely again.
Food & Gardens
Starting and supporting community food gardens and feeding schemes that put fresh, nutritious meals on local tables.
Learning & Youth
After-school homework support, reading clubs, and skills workshops that help young people grow in confidence and opportunity.
Our approach
How a project comes together.
- Step 1
Listen
We meet with residents, community leaders and local organisations to understand real needs before anything is planned.
- Step 2
Plan together
Projects are designed with the community, using local skills, local suppliers and clear goals everyone agrees on.
- Step 3
Build
Volunteers, residents and partners work shoulder to shoulder to repair, plant, teach and create.
- Step 4
Hand over
We train and support local champions so every project keeps growing long after our teams move on.
